Welcome to the new season
Welcome players and parents to the Season 20/21. We hope you are all well and keeping safe in this interesting time.
Due to the COVID restrictions currently in place and using the guidelines from NSW Health, Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW, registration, training and grading this season will be different to previous years. Please understand that these rules have been put in place by the authorities to ensure community sport can continue. The alternative is we don't have any community sport at all and that would be far worse.
With some grounds unavailable due to winter sports, we have had to alter the Grading times for some sessions, so please check back weekly.
To accommodate as many participants as possible we have had to limit times and teams for our training this weekend. We will rotate teams if all grounds are not available next week. Unfortunately we have had to make the hard decision to defer Girls training and Seniors Grading for this weekend. We simply do not have enough suitable times and locations available. We will endeavour to give them priority in future weeks.
Below are provided links to the NSW Health sites for the community sport recommendations and the NSW Chief Health Officers' letter. In addition we have links to the Cricket Australia information.
Please read these. We are currently in a very fluid situation and some of these restrictions and guidelines are being changed regularly.
Please check emails, our Facebook page and our website before attending training sessions as we may be required to make late changes due to the current situation.
Junior and Senior Grading and Practice
For training and grading we must meet the current strict COVID restrictions. For this we have implemented a COVID plan. Under the restrictions social distancing and limited participant numbers are mandatory. To maintain compliance we will require parents to maintain social distancing and limit the time they are present at training. If possible with older children, we recommend parents drop their children off at training and pick them up at the end or remain at a suitable distance during the training sessions. We will have club officials present to ensure the COVID requirements are met. They may ask people to move if required.
Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW have set limits for the use of nets and equipment for training. No sharing of players gloves and protective equipment is allowed and there are restrictions on sharing other equipment such as pads, helmets and bats. The club can only provide limited equipment on the day for training, so we recommend all players will bring their own gloves and protective equipment for batting practice if they have them. If not there will still be plenty of training opportunities for them.
There will be QR codes at the training locations. All parents and senior players will be required to scan the QR code on arrival and complete the questionnaire. This is a mandatory requirement for us to be able to host training and grading. There can be no exemptions to this. Please ensure you have the QR code scanner app on your phone when you attend.
We request if you or your family members have any symptoms or have been sick in the last week that you do not attend training.
Bookings for training this week will not be required. Please remember that we still have limits of the number of players we can have in the nets. Players may be put into groups which will be doing drills on the field.
Note that players MUST be registered with club to attend training.
The following Practice times and locations apply for Sunday, Sept 20 only.
Junior and Senior Registrations
Registrations this year will be online only.
We will not be hosting a registration day at this stage. However, we will have committee members at the training days who can assist anyone that has any questions. You can also email the Baulkham Hills Cricket Club and ask for assistance if needed.
