Saturday Morning Juniors.
This competiton was revived after a lapse of many years and although boys were young and inexperienced they performed well to finish 3rd in competition. Much credit goes to M. Gilham for transporting the boys to and from matches, also the capable way he managed and controlled them. From my own observations, as I umpired a number of matches, I am pleased to say that some of these juniors showed good promise and will be an asset to the club in the near future. As there was no official scorer, averages were not kept.
It was pleasing to see G. Horwood and D. Blundell re-elected to the executive committee of the association; also G. Horwood elected to act on the wet weather committee.
Once again your cricket season concluded with a very enjoyable social evening and dance at which the various presentations were made, namely, fielding trophies to F. Stretton and R. Parker; presentations to Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Cleasby for scoring and serving of afternoon tea; also a presentation was made to F. Wright on his leaving the club.
I hereby take this opportunity of thanking all club members, their wives and their friends for their continued support and patronage of the club and its social functions.
Yours faithfully,
D. BLUNDELL
Hon. Sec.
