A great year was had by all in this team. Some young players including George and Cody did very well and held their own throughout the year. A special congratulations must go to Sam Shiel who took 5/17 in round 5. He was the only under 10 player for the club to take 5 wickets in a match this season. Overall, some players trained hard on a regular basis and learnt new skills. Everybody enjoyed the year and good luck to those boys playing U/11 next season. Thank you to the parents who helped out a lot as well. THE TEAM Greg Maylon: Greg has shown huge improvements this year in both batting and particularly his bowling. His fielding has also come ahead this year. Cody Thomas: Turning 7 in January Cody's batting has been very good. While making few runs he was only dismissed twice in twelve innings. An excellent effort. His bowling has improved and will get better as he gets older. Dineth Dayananda: Dineth has worked hard on his bowling this year. He was always trying and has learnt many new things this year. Dineth is always watching and alert in the field. He is happy to move anywhere on the field without question or hesitation. Kiveshin Pillay: Winning the batting award this year is a sign of his maturing as a batsman. He is bowling quicker and straighter and should do well in U/11 next season. He is also developing as a good wicket keeper. Rushane Sumanasekara: Rushane is always trying and has improved in all areas of cricket this season. He enjoys every game and is always happy to be playing. George Joseph: George is another one of this team's 7 year olds. His batting is very good and has improved more this year. He is always thinking and has an excellent idea of what is happening in the game. George is a very good fielder and took some great catches this year. Sam Shiel: Sam's bowling has improved enormously this season. He is now bowling fast and straight. His batting can be very good when he has confidence in what he can do. Sam finished second in both the batting and bowling averages. His fielding was at times, excellent. Pavan Kasthuriarachchi: Pavan has been one of the most consistent bowlers in this team. Always on line he has bowled few wides. His batting has improved and will get better as he gets older. He was often sent in to open the batting, and only got out 4 times during the season. A great effort. Sanjeev Casinader: Sanjeev enjoys his cricket and always has a great time. He has worked really hard and saw improvements in both batting and bowling in the second part of the season. Roshan Vaseeharan: Roshan as the winner of the bowling award has always bowled very well, with great rhythm. His batting is improving and with more confidence in his ability he will continue to improve. Deshan Udugahapaththuwa: Deshan was always working hard to improve his cricket. He has learnt a lot and will continue to improve next season. Jovi Arya: Jovi has a lot of ability and bowls well. He did a great job early in the season but was unable to play later in the season due to other commitments.
