Another great season for the team! The boys progressed for the second year in a row without losing a game to go on and win the final. We welcomed three new players, Trent Stubbs, Matthew Barbeau and Josh Franklin to the team. We were put under pressure several times this season and on each occasion the boys would support each other and rise to the challenge. Again it was a pleasure to be involved with a team of talented young cricketers who played with such skill and professionalism. Some of the highlights of the season started in our first game with Nick making 60 runs and backing up to take 3 wickets for 2 runs. In Round 4 Teshan bowled very well taking 4 wickets to secure a win against Greystanes. In Round 5 we put on 237 runs against Pendle Hill Colts with Trent (55), Sean (45 scored in 25 minutes), Daniel (35) and Gabriel (33) contributing to the score. In Round 6 Trent scored 53 runs and in Round 8 Matthew took 3/6 and Trent 3/1. In Round 9 Nick scored 62 runs and Sean 33 runs. In Round 10 Nick hit his best score belting 68 runs not out and Samira scored 27 runs with Trent taking 4/2. In Round 11 Ben bowled very well taking 4/5. The boys played Kings Langley in the semi-final giving them a hand with 42 sundries in a total of 86 runs. Once again the boys lifted to the occasion with Sean and Brendan sharing in a 75 run partnership which put us into the final. We played Greystanes in the final and batted first putting on 123 runs with Sean 23, Trent 31, Daniel 17 and Ben 13 not out all contributing to the score. We cut the sundries in half bowling Greystanes out for 82 to win back to back finals. THE TEAM Ben Abbott: is a very good all round cricketer. He has taken out the bowling award with 17 wickets at an average of 3.24 runs per wicket from 33 overs. As the season progressed, Ben perfected his spin bowling and mixed this with the odd fast ball to be a very successful bowler. Ben is an excellent fielder with good reflexes and a safe pair of hands. Sean Abbott: is a very good all round cricketer. He is the team's specialist keeper and has done an excellent job supporting the bowlers.
