2003/2004 Report - Under 16/2
The past season has seen a lot of memories gone by from when I started coaching in 1997. I've watched little boys transform into 'young adults'. Initially, with the emergence of a few Under 15's into our team, led to our team being a great team, which it was. For the seniors who had been with me for a few years, I wish you well with whatever path you choose to follow. I've had a great deal of fun, I certainly hope you guys have, and I certainly wish to continue my coaching within the club. Just a few notes of thanks to the wonderful people who have devoted their time to our team, namely Brett, Joel, Stan, Margaret, and the parents who have supported us each week.
THE TEAM
Shane Kant: new to the club, showed a great improvement over the season.
Dean Edwards: senior member of the team, valuable wicket-keeper and batsmen.
Alok Vaida: new to the side (Under 15's player), fitted in well, good 1st change bowler.
Cameron Guest: senior player, opening batsmen and great slips fieldsman.
Dane Stoffberg: senior player who bowled reasonably well but excelled better in the field taking 10 catches this season.
Aviv Pudipeddi: senior player, great solid opening batsmen, also handy bowler.
Tarin Piskulich (c): great captain, excellent opening bowler, and fearless batsmen. Often leading the way and giving support to others.
Joe Tham: another senior player, excelled in the field, often taking Kodak-Moment catches, and good tail-end batsmen.
Edward Nield: past player who returned to the team, filled in well as a handy all-rounder, being good with the bat, ball, and gloves.
Lawrence Daniel: newcomer to the side (Under 15's), good opening bowler and handy with the bat.
Simon Pobihuszka: senior player, out of the season for the better half due to work commitments, Simon was great with the bat and the ball.
Ali Bokari: newcomer to the team (Under 15's), played a handful of games as opening batsmen, and often took much-needed wickets as well.
Andrew Mansted: newcomer to the team (Under 15's), displayed good qualities, very handy all-rounder, great spin bowler.
Congratulations to my team for having reached the semi-finals, in our first season as a combined team. Great effort. To the senior players thanks for the memories. To the Under 15's hopefully we can get a team together for the new season and do it all over again.
