Have-A-Go Coaching Clinic - 2003/2004
I had the privilege of following in the footsteps of Neil Boyle, who had been the Coordinator for the past 8 years. Neil had left a healthy operation and the only major change was the switch to Friday night. Schools in the area were visited by Cricket NSW Development Officers and this combined with our switch to Friday saw our numbers increase to 67, up 22 on last year.
The highlight of the season was our club being selected to perform at the Sydney Cricket Ground during the luncheon break of the Australia vs India Test (Steve Waugh's farewell). We were also invited to perform at the Olympic Stadium during the luncheon break of NSW vs Queensland Women's match.
My sincere thanks go to Kate Webb for her devoted assistance throughout the program and in particular her handling of the 5 and 6 year olds. Also thanks to Neil Boyle for his guidance throughout the season and Terry Webb for running the canteen. Finally, thanks to all the parents who assisted during the season and a special thanks to all the children for their enthusiasm, attentiveness and good humour, which make the season such an enjoyable one.
This season's Encouragement Award was won by Nicholas Ballard, who worked throughout the program to bring his cricket skills to a high standard and make himself a worthy winner.
