2004/2005 Report - Under 10 Blue

What a brilliant season, the improvement shown by everyone was very satisfying and the sportsmanship inspiring. They would clap good fielding and batting and congratulate and say well done to the opposition batters. We won all but 2 games, one of those we scored over 200 runs but lost by 0.1 of a run.

The support from all the parents throughout the season with umpiring and scoring helped make it a very enjoyable season for everyone involved.

Overall a season of great moments, with some fantastic fielding, great run outs exciting batting and accurate bowling. By the end of the season we were getting plenty of wickets. I look forward to seeing everyone back next season to once again play the great game.

Jonathan Barnitt: Had a very consistent season both with bat and ball and one where his stats didn't do him justice. He could easily of had more runs and wickets with a bit more luck. Keep up the hard work.

Hannah Emmitt: This was Hannah's first season of cricket. At the start she could hardly land the ball near the wicket, she persisted with her action and ended up getting most on the wicket. Her hockey skills shone out in her batting, she often made good contact with the ball. Well-done Hannah!

Timothy Engdahl: Tim's bowling and batting improved out of sight this year. He bagged quite a few wickets and had some solid shots away with the bat. Keep improving Tim.

Nicholas McConnell: This was Nick's first year with our team and he just fitted in like a glove. Nick was first to hit a 6 (a lovely shot over deep backward square leg). He continually performed and had great commitment in bowling and fielding.

Geoffrey McIntyre: Geoff had a solid season with both bat and ball. When he got his bowling on line he was very hard to defend, with an action that looks like developing nicely. His batting helped contribute to some sound totals.

Mitchell Neckerauer: Mitch had a season where his bowling improved out of sight. His commitment to this never wavered through the season and ended with the reward of several wickets and hardly any sundries. Mitch's batting is improving. Keep getting your front foot forward mate. Well-done Mitch.

Amy Newman: Amy's bowling action improved with every game, it became smoother and straighter throughout the season enabling her to bag a few wickets. She achieved something no other batter did and scored a magnificent 5 off one shot. We can all say it was some magical judgment in running between wickets!

Blake Newman: Blake's constant dedication and hard work showed in his results. He had a sensational season with the bat hitting over 50 fours and 5 sixes. He bowled very well often without luck and took a couple of sharp catches during the season.

Todd Ripps: Todd's batting and bowling improved throughout the season. He will develop into a handy cricketer, as his bowling keeps on improving he will terrorise many batters. With his new bat, a handy Xmas present, Todd achieved his highest score and hardly got out with it!

Matthew Sibley: Matty is a crafty left arm bowler and batter with plenty of ability. He was always near the action in the field having a liking to the slips area and helped create several run out opportunities.

Gaj Sivapalan: Gaj had a consistent season with both bat and ball. A very charismatic player who on more than one occasion ran in from the boundary for his bowling run up! He has a good technique with the bat and a lovely cover drive.

Nathan Smith: This was Nathan's first year with the team and he applied himself very well. He also improved well through the season hitting some very good shots by keeping his head down, bowling straighter all the time and finishing with some outstanding fielding especially in our last game.

Mitchell Webb: Our dynamic left arm bowler who never let up on the batsmen and a very good batter scoring plenty of runs. Mitch has a good technique with a nice square cut in his range of shots. His presence in the field was always noticeable contributing to many wickets!

William Widjaja: William joined our side in Round 5 of the competition and he fitted in very nicely almost getting man of the match in his first game. He had an enjoyable season and always tried his hardest. We are working on his bowling action to improve his run up and once that is achieved he will do very well. His batting improved with Will getting his front foot closer to the ball.

Also thanks to Brad Ripps for helping us out during the season.
