2004/2005 Report - Under 10 White A
This has been a year of very good team performances. All boys contributed to a season in which we remained unbeaten. There were some fine displays with the bat, the ball and in the field. All boys put in a great effort and there was all round improvement in each boy. It was great to see the boys get along so well and work together as a team. There was excitement and encouragement when wickets were taken and runs scored.
Each boy brought something different to the team and made their own, unique contribution. All boys learned new skills, increased their range of strokes and developed their speed and accuracy in bowling.
There were some fine, outstanding performances throughout the season across the whole team and good sportsmanship was displayed.
The team was well supported by all the parents. The enthusiasm and interest of the parents had a significant impact on the boys and the support was greatly appreciated. It was wonderful to have the help of parents at training, scoring the games, helping the boys pad up and get ready to bat and generally enthusing and encouraging each boy.
The team was:
Amit Balakrishnan - Bowls wrist spin very accurately and will take a lot of wickets in the future when he learns he won't get a wicket every ball. Good batmen as well with a good eye. Will enjoy U/11's next season.
Joshua Balzarolo - Very good fieldsman, can bat a lot better than he thinks he can.
Bill Barnes - Has a great attitude and wants to learn. Showed good improvement allround.
James Benton - Has an excellent sense of humour, very good hands, showed good improvement in both batting and bowling. Bowls quite quick when he concentrates.
Luke Bertus - By the end of the year Luke was playing with a straight bat, getting a few runs and was also taking regular wickets. Showed he can play the game and next year should be even better for him.
Harrison Druery - His first season and showed significant improvement throughout especially in his batting. By the end of the season he had a straight bat and very good front and backfoot defence. His bowling also improved significantly and became a lot more accurate.
Tom Hughes - Enjoys his cricket, has very good hands and very good hand/eye co-ordination and should develop even more next year.
Joshua Koski - Another great improver with the bat and gives his best all the time. Really enjoyed giving his father and I a hard time while batting at training.
Ravi Marwah - Bowls with good pace and accuracy and showed continued improvement from last year.
Anupam Parashar - Very keen and improved in all facets of the game. Took a great one handed catch in last over of last game to win the match for us.
Taseen Rahman - Hits the ball very hard and demonstrated good improvement with the ball. Will do well in U/11's.
James Senior - It's hard being the coaches' son but coped well with it. He showed great skill with the bat and improved his game throughout the year and will do well in U/11's.
Joshua Stevenson - Batted extremely well and didn't get out all year. Bowled extremely well and will take a lot more wickets in U/11's.
It was a pleasure to be associated with these boys this year. They and their parents were a credit to the club, performed very well and above all had great fun together! I would like to thank Geoff Stevenson for everything he has done this year as manager. He put in a lot of time and effort and it has been much appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed the season and look forward to next season. Unfortunately not all the boys will be going to U/11's and I wish all the kids all the best for next season.
