Secretary's Report - 2005/2006

Once again it falls upon the Secretary to mention some of the negative comments on matters. It seems that we are always chasing teams for their Annual Reports, D sheets, Presentation numbers etc. Although we give much advance notice of what is required, there are always those who ignore this and drag the chain. Attendance at our monthly meetings was at times very poor. It is a requirement that all teams are represented at these meetings. Of course, there are always those who carryout their duties and those who are rather less proactive.

It was unfortunate that this year we had a couple of disciplinary matters, one of which required PDCA involvement and subsequently led to substantial suspensions. While we can always come up with reasons why such events take place, teams need to be proactive and take measures to ensure the matters do not escalate to such a state. The team management must be cognisant of this when carrying out their duties. This applies equally to both juniors and seniors.

The management committee continues to work hard to steer the club in the right direction. We believe we achieved this on the management side but alas this did not transpose to premiership wins, although it must be said that we were well represented in both the semis and finals. Congratulations to both the 14/1 and 14/3 for winning the premiership. I know that there were many other teams that rightly deserved to achieve this but did not on the day. The challenge now is for the seniors to step up next season.

Congratulations on the following players who were awarded the best in their respective grades
