This season we had fifteen senior teams registered - an increase of two from last season. This increase of teams was also reflected right across the association, resulting in the introduction of three new competitions (B15-B17). At the end of the normal rounds, we had 9 teams (A Res, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9, B15, and C grade) in semi final positions - of these, two made the finals. Unfortunately once again we were unable to win any Senior premierships - two seasons in a row without a win. Hopefully we can break the drought next season. The highlight from a performance point of view was the efforts of 'A Res' and C grade to make the finals. A Reserve, after being promoted from B4's showed that the club can provide very competitive teams in the higher grades. C grade consisted mainly of players and parents from the U15/1's had a great season in their first year of seniors cricket and were unfortunate not to win after leading the competition for most of the season. Throughout the season there were a lot of difficult times. One of the most concerning aspects of the season was the pull out of the B16's team for the last two rounds. When you sign up to play cricket, you are making a commitment to the club and to your fellow team mates that you will play most (if not) every game. When people do not stand by this, teams end up playing short. This lowers the enjoyment and performance of the entire team. Special thanks must go to the U14/1's - who at short notice managed to put together a competitive side to fill in for the last two rounds. I would like to thank everyone who helped to arrange fill ins throughout the season - especially Joe Gurka and the 'C' grade team. On almost a weekly basis they provided fill ins for a variety of grades. Without their assistance, many sides would have played short regularly.
