2006/2007 Report - B5 Grade
The B5 team started the season very well with three straight wins. However, we where fortunate in our round 4 Match against the NSW Tamils at North Rocks Park in which we where chasing around 220 when the council did works on the ground during the week and a lot of sand was dumped which made the ground resemble a beach more than a cricket field and therefore the match was abandoned and the result was a draw. After our good start to the season the team lost a few games around the half way point of the season which put us in the lower half of the table around the Christmas / New Year period. We picked up our form during the later half of the season which enabled us to finish 4th and therefore earn a semi with Erskine Park who where beaten once through the season by Baulko in round 3. The semi final was played on a familiar ground North Rocks Park in which was a low scoring game which we lost by 2 wickets.
All up this was a fair season for the B5 which managed our fourth consecutive semi final in a row playing a grade higher than last year. We done to all the guys this season for the efforts on the field and helping out the off the field duties which are required to make our Saturday afternoon's enjoyable. A special Thank you to Darren Tipton for captaining the side and Cameron Booth who was vice captain.
On a sad note Cameron who has been with the side since we first joined Baulkham Hills in 1994 will be leaving the team to move to Oregon in the US to join his fiancée. On behalf of the team I wish Cameron all the best and to thank him for all the efforts in doing our team stats and a special mention for compiling the DVD's for the previous two seasons which has taken a tremendous amount of effort and time which has given all the teams members a lot of laughs and enjoyment.
