2006/2007 Report - Have-A-Go Clinic
The Club once again ran the Milo Have-A-Go program at Charles McLaughlin Reserve on Friday nights. The program had in excess of 70 children between the ages of 5 and 9. This included more than 10 girls.
We ran 12 sessions with 7 before Christmas and 5 in the New Year. The first period culminated in a Christmas Barbeque and the second period finished with the presentation of certificates by the Club President Mr. Peter McLoughlin followed by another barbeque. Special thanks must be given to all the parents who provided such a wonderful array of salads and sweets.
Thanks to Cricket N.S.W. for inviting us to perform at lunch time on the 3rd day of the Australia versus England Ashes Test. We were able to take 20 children, 8 parents and 2 coordinators. Special thanks to Greg McLoughlin and Evan Platt for coordinating the day in my absence, Peter Burns for providing the fatherly figure and the parents who we able to help on the day. All had a great day.
To Evan Platt, Greg McLoughlin, Les Hill, Alex Mihalyka, Peter Burns and all the parents and club officials who helped run the program throughout the season my sincere thanks.
Congratulations to Mark Johnson the winner of the Encouragement Award for the Outstanding Player throughout the season.
Finally a warm thank you to all the parents for bringing their children along to the program and we look forward to seeing the older ones move on to junior cricket at the club and the rest back with Have-A-Go next season.
