About Baulko
Web Site designed by |
Our junior teams grew from 15 last season to 17 this season with three teams in each of the Under 10 to 13 age groups, two teams in Under 14 and 15 and one in Under 16. Having three teams in the Under 10s to Under 13s shows the continuing success of Have-A-Go Cricket in bringing young players to our club and the good reputation our club enjoys. We had eleven of our new coaches and managers receive level 1 coaching accreditation following their attendance at the courses run by Cricket NSW. It has been a pleasure working with our junior coaches, managers, players and the hard-working and dedicated members of our club's Committee. The skills and qualifications of our coaches were clearly evident with nine of our fifteen teams playing in the U11 to U16 competition reaching the semi final. Congratulations to the 11/1, 11/3, 12/1, 12/2, 13/1, 13/2, 14/1, 15/1 and 16/1 teams who made the semi finals and to the 11/1, 11/3, 12/2 and 14/1, who won their semi finals to book a place in the finals. In the semi finals the 11/3s finished fourth and played an amazing game in the semi against the minor premiers Pendle Hill Colts, scoring 73 runs and then bowling Pendle Hill out for 53. The 11/1s finished minor premiers having lost only two games all season and went on to win the semi final. The 12/2s finished second, having lost only three games all season, and played Kings Langley in the semi final. Baulko batted first and put on a very healthy 143 runs and then bowled out Kings Langley for 63 to book their place in the final. The 14/1s dominated their competition, losing only one game to finish minor premiers and going on to defeat Wenty Leagues in the semi final. Unfortunately the 11/3s and 12/2s lost their finals, with the 12/2s bowled out 5 runs short of a victory against AKA who were undefeated all season. Congratulations to the 11/1s and 14/1s who won their finals to take out the premiership. The 11/1s had an amazing finish to their final game against Norwest where Baulko batted first scoring 93 runs and then Norwest reached their score 9 wickets down. Baulko bowled five maiden overs without giving away a run and then in the following over took the last wicket to tie the scores and, as they were minor premiers, win the premiership. The level of talented cricketers in our club was highlighted by the large number of players selected to represent Parramatta in the NSW Districts Cricket competition. A big thanks to the officials from our club who have given their time to coach and manage representative teams for the PDCA. The officials and players selected are as follows:
Congratulations to the Moore Shield Team who have won three shields in the last three years. This is a very impressive list of cricketers - watch for their names in the future. Achievements like these can only be reached with a high standard of coaching and parent participation.
