This year saw a combination of youth and experience that worked really well, with all players having a lot of fun. For some of us oldies, it was the best year we have had for a number of seasons. Every player made a contribution during the year, best evidenced with 8 different players picking up man of the match honours. All players were keen to contribute to team chores such as match reports, umpiring, monthly meetings etc. making the skipper's job much easier. Interest for training during the week the best I have seen in years. Versatile group with emphasis on putting the younger players forward in the batting order and bowling responsibilities, all responded excellently to the challenges. 3 Outright and 2 First Innings wins saw us finish in 4th place in a comp where all teams were vying for the semis. A disappointing result in the semi, soundly whacked by the eventual comp winners, but hey, there's always next season. This group is the keenest I have seen for a while to want to play together as a team again next season. Many thanks to Peter Burns, Chris Medd, Andrew Harrington and Sulacha Koralege (B13s) for filling in during the season.
