Secretary's Report - 2004/2005

When reviewing past reports it always seemed that the Secretary's report covered the same topics, late reports, D Sheets, attendance at meetings etc. Sadly this seems indicative of past and present team Captains, Coaches and Managers. The majority do the right thing and then there are those who don't and it would not matter what was written here, because those who don't will not read this anyway, so as your Secretary I will save you from reading my gripes.

It was a busy year, more so than most. With a changing of the guard to a fairly new Executive Committee we set about trying to steer the Club in the right direction. We believe we achieved this on the management side but alas this did not transpose to premiership wins. Although it must be said that we were very well represented in both the semis and finals. Congratulations to the 13/1 for snaring our only premiership. I know that there were many other teams that rightly deserved to achieve this but did not on the day.

Reading both the President's and Treasurer's report it can be seen that we are in a healthy state both direction wise and monetary. And for that we must thank both Peter McLoughlin and Malcolm Currey for their sterling work throughout the season.

As has been mentioned at both the senior and junior presentations, both George Wasyluk and Malcolm Currey are both stepping down this year after many, many years of loyal and dedicated service. George for his commitment to the junior teams and his undying support for the Club and Malcolm for his ongoing commitment to ensuring we remained financially viable. Malcolm assumed the Treasury position in a time when we had to wait until the fees of the following season were paid before he could pay monies outstanding from the previous season. His tenacious approach to securing our finances deserves special praise.

On behalf of the Baulkham Hills Cricket Club Incorporated, its Committee and members we thank both George and Malcolm for their dedication, support and friendship. We wish both of you all the best in whatever endeavours you may choice. Thank you.

Congratulations on the following players who were awarded the best in their respective grades
