Well it was a mixed season, and unfortunately the team missed to convert some opportunities, which would have resulted in them registering a win. However there was marked improvement in all the boy's effort and skill level towards the end of the season. I would personally like to thank all that parents that helped out during the season, whether it be with training, umpiring, scoring or giving the boys a few warm up balls. I am sure it helped with the overall success of the team. Special mention must go to Perry who managed the side well, and scored most days, and also Howard who umpired and scored at every opportunity. Also we must thank Kevin for his efforts early in the season. Greg Malyon: Greg took out our best batting average and aggregate for the season and definitely stamped his class on the side. Greg batted well from the first game, and contributed throughout the season, and on one occasion managed to carry his bat throughout an innings. Greg also was a real asset in the field taking 3 catches and being involved in several run outs. Jack O Brien: Jack took out the bowling honours with most wickets at a healthy average of 16.5. Jack in the first game managed to a bag of 5. Jack also registered the highest individual batting score of the season with an unbeaten 39. A good solid season, which Jack could build on in the future. Owen McLoughlin Watson: Owen receives the encouragement award for the season. Owen's development especially in the later half of the season was really encouraging. He really showed some promise with the bat, and was also very useful with the ball taking 6 wickets. Owen was strong in the field also taking 3 catches. Deshan Udugahapaththuwa: Deashan (Don) is a naturally gifted cricketer who showed some glimpses of brilliance throughout the season. Don took the bowling average with a respectable average of 7.0 and always looked the goods with the bat. Sumedh Jayanti: The catch of the season must go to Sumedh where he took a screamer against Pendle Hill that gave us a chance of winning that game. Standing at square leg a ball was hit forcefully off the square straight to Sumedh who caught it without even flinching. Sumedh contributed with both bat & ball scoring 36 runs and taking 3 wickets. Todd Ripps: Todd showed some natural speed with ball when he used his effort ball. Unfortunately the consistency wasn't always there, but when he did get an effort ball on line it was usually unplayable. Todd was very gritty with his batting and supported the tail on more than one occasion. Tim Engdahl: Tim played his best game in the last round for Baulkham Hills. He really applied himself with the bat and reached his top score. Tim was also a good bowler who always seemed to get a breakthrough. A good all round season and one that he could build on in the future. Damon Luck: Damon showed some late season form with the bat, he racked up some good scores and helped the team post some respectable scores. His best innings was against Pendle Hill scoring 22, with the majority of those coming from boundaries. Mitchell Neckerauer: Mitchell has improved his bowling immensely in the last few years. Mitchell was one of our most consistent and on line bowlers throughout the season. He took 5 wickets at a very neat average of 18.6. Mitchell also showed improvement with the bat and was resolute in defence. William Widjaja: William was great as keeper this year. He really seemed to settle into this position and was always safe. Playing keeper limited his bowling options, but when he did come out from behind the stumps he sent down some great leg spinners and took 3 wickets. William's batting was a joy to watch. Luke O'Brien: Luke joined the team mid season, but had an instant influence on the team with his courage and enthusiasm. His batting was entertaining to watch, as there was never a dull moment. Luke's bowling improved throughout the season. Yardevan Upendran: Yardevan was one of our better bowlers in the beginning of the season taking 3 wickets. Rayab Sandhu: We didn't get to see much of Rayab as he left before the halfway mark of the competition.
