2005/2006 Report - Under 12/1
This season saw us enter into another very strong competition.
Our team had a relatively slow start by our standards.
However this did not discourage this group of fine young cricketers.
The players, to their credit always showed a very enthusiastic approach to their game, which later in the season saw us just miss out on the semis.
I know that next season we will give it our best shot again, and I am sure we will be just as competitive, if not more so.
Thanks must go to the parents who whenever called upon gave up their time to help out with the many things our team and club needs to help it succeed, such as, scoring, canteen duties and fund raising, as well as their continued support and advice all season.
Special thanks must go to Mansoor Rizvi for managing the team and Craig Shiel for umpiring when called upon.
Near the completion of the season I asked the players five questions:-
1) Who is your favourite cricketer?
2) What brand of bat do you like to use?
3) What is your preferred fielding position?
4) What is your favourite position in the batting order?
5) Which cricketer do you think most resembles your bowling style?

Amol Marwah :- Which cricketer do you think most resembles your bowling style? Paul Adams
Asad Rizvi :- What brand of bat do you like to use? MRF : Genius
Sid Mehta :- Which cricketer do you think most resembles your bowling style? Imzamam Ul-Haq
Karanbir Singh :- What is your favourite position in the batting order? Number Six
Adarsh Subramaniam :- What is your preferred fielding position? Square Leg
Sam Shiel :- Who is your favourite player? Brett Lee
Ashleigh Thomas :- What is your favourite position in the batting order? Opener
One thing that gives me encouragement to keep on coaching is that while players like these keep turning up year after year, our team and our club are in safe hands for the future.
I hope to see you all back again for next season.
