2005/2006 Report - Under 13/1
This year for the first time we failed to reach the semis. Although this can be seen as going a step backwards, I feel this wasn't the case. The comp this year was a lot stronger with the introduction of three new teams.
The main reason we missed out was our poor catching throughout the year. It seemed the harder we worked on it, the worse we got. Remember "catches win matches".
Overall our batting skills and bowling skills of all boys improved over the season. Some dramatically and some only slightly but I believed you all improved. Congratulations to all the award winners well done.
To all the parents thank you for your support. I hope you enjoyed the season as much as me. A special thank you to my trusty scorer Shan for another job well done, thanks a lot mate. Also to Sammy for taking on the role of manager, my first manager in 21 years of coaching. It certainly makes the job a lot easier. Thanks mate.
Finally I would like to thank the boys, who are just a great bunch who support one another both on and off the field. You all have become great friends with one another and also with me. A special mention to Michael Bennetts who took on the role of captain and did a great job showing a lot of maturity. Well done "Ritchie".
