2005/2006 Report - Under 13/2
A very good season was enjoyed by this team which consisted of 50% new players from other clubs or in their first season of cricket. The camaraderie was terrific and the skill improvement was great across the team. We lost some games we should have won, due in the main to poor fielding, but will be better for the experience next season. There is no doubt this squad has the ability to play finals if the boys work hard at it. Thank you to Phil and Guy for helping out with the coaching during the season, and Anita with team duties. Thanks also to the parents that regularly come along and support the team, as the boys appreciate it I am sure.
PLAYERS
Elliott Stillman (Captain) - An excellent season from an excellent all round cricketer. Bowled with much vigor, batted with gusto on all occasions, and took some fine catches. Great season Elliott.
Vrushank Bakshi - A very good year as a finger spinner and some good knocks with bat. Is also a good stand in keeper. Developing into a good all round cricketer.
Dillon Brittain - A very well liked boy in the team with excellent athletic ability. Season was interrupted with injuries but in the second half his bowling improved enormously. Batting should improve greatly next season as his technique is starting to come together.
Toby Davis - A natural leader on the cricket field Toby tried hard with bat and ball this season and reaped some good results. He also has developed into a very good all rounder. Excellent season Toby.
Alex Dopper - A gifted athlete who had his first season with the club this year and excelled with both bat and ball. Also kept on occasions with good results. Great season Alex.
Matthew Farrand - A very competitive cricketer who studies the game well. Came along very nicely this season with both batting and bowling and is developing into a good all round cricketer
Arnav Gupta - A likable boy who plays with much courage. A good first season and showed great promise for the future with much improvement as the season progressed
Daniel Marlow - A very talented sportsman who unfortunately had an injury interrupted season. When up and running Daniel kept brilliantly and batted with attacking flair.
Abbishiek Nayak - Abbi played his first season and showed much enthusiasm for the sport. Needs to practice skill level in off season and should make an impact next season.
Matthew Newson - A tough competitor who loves the game. Batting technique improved out of sight during the season and his medium pacers were always tight and made the batsman earn every run. Snaffled most chances in the filed. Good all round season.
Adam Nugent - A very laconic young man with enormous natural talent for the game. Bowled magnificently all season and batted well also. Great season Adam.
Kiveshin Pillay - One of the younger boys in the team and matured greatly as the season progressed. A natural talent also and developed batting and bowling technique well along the journey.
Shivang Sharma - A very courageous competitor who bowled with great pace and menace at times. An excellent season Shivang and keep up the good work next year.
