We won more games than we lost and it was truly encouraging to see the continued improvement in the boys and the enthusiasm with which they played. The losses hardly bothered them. I extend my thanks to the parents who came to the games and stayed to cheer on the team; to David Black for many weeks of umpiring and to Phil Waddups and Brent McCorkell for doing the needful when neither Nigel or David were around. In fact, Brent (who supposedly had no previous experience at umpiring) was looking quite the expert by the end of the season!!! I also appreciated the assistance provided by Joanne Waddups and Lisa Krnel to get the boys organised in their batting order. Thanks also to Nalaka for assisting with the scoring. It was a great experience and I would encourage all the boys to stay in the U10s for as long as their age permits them to gain valuable skills before moving into the more serious form of competition.
