2006/2007 Report - Under 11/3

What a fantastic season it ended up being for the 11/3's. Throughout the year we showed that we were a competitive side in a competition where any team could have taken out the top prize. We had a mixture of boys with different levels of ability. Each individual boy showed some form of improvement over the year. Towards the end of the competition all boys were working together as a team. With one round left in the competition we came up against the team coming equal first, and just happen to put in the performance of the year to win convincingly and finish in fourth place on the ladder. Our excellent form continued and we managed to beat the number one team in the semi finals to earn our place in the grand final. Unfortunately on the day, we could not produce the form we had shown in previous weeks, but were more than happy to finish the year in second place. Well done boys. You should all be very proud of yourselves. Thanks go out to all the parents and carers and especially to our coaches John and Muhsin.

Varun Aswal - gave his best effort in every game. Opened the batting for us on many occasions. Scored a total of 96 runs over the season and took 11 wickets. A good all round player.

Manmit Bedi - liked to try and 'smash the ball out of the park' a bit too often but showed some good form with the bat as the season progressed. Also a tidy bowler. Scored a total of 104 runs and took 5 wickets and 1 catch. Good in the field when commitment and concentration was there.

William Costi - one of our best in the field. Stopped many balls from finding the boundary. Also a handy alternative bowler. Keep up the good work William. You showed great improvement in your game this year. Scored 13 runs and took 4 wickets.

Blaine Cuneo - did an excellent job as wicket keeper considering it was his first year with the gloves. Showed good form with the bat and opened on most occasions. Probably the best runner and caller between the wickets. Scored 78 runs and took 10 catches.

Benjamin Eades - showed great improvement and form with the bat, especially towards the end of the season. Keep it up Ben. Keep working on your bowling too. Scored 24 runs and took 2 wickets.

Timothy Engdahl - a good all round player. Showed good form and improvement over the season in the field and with the bat. Always well mannered and did as he was asked. Scored 85 runs and took 3 wickets and 1 catch.

Lucas Kent - this was his first year of cricket. Took a lot of hits at training but never flinched and kept trying. Has shown improvement with the bat and ball over the season and is not so hesitant in the field now. Hope you enjoyed your cricket Lucas and continue playing next year. Scored just 1 run but hey, you've got to start somewhere, right Lucas?

Jackson Manning - a pleasure to watch with the bat when in form. Also a great fielder. A little inconsistent with the bowling, but keep working on it Jackson, cause when they're on line, you get the wickets. Scored 130 runs and took 9 wickets and 5 catches.

Raad Monir - probably our best bowler. Consistently took wickets in each game over the season. Pretty good with the bat and in the field too. Scored 54 runs and took 24 wickets and 3 catches. Also bowled 26 maidens.

Michael Paulraj - missed a number of games when he was on holidays, but showed some good form towards the end of the season. Gave a great effort in the grand final. Scored 21 runs and took 4 wickets.

Husam Samy - one of our finest and tidiest bowlers. Great also with the bat and in the slips. We really missed him in the grand final. Scored 120 runs and took 16 wickets and 6 catches.

Jayden Stafford - given the task most games of being opening bowler. Has great potential both with his bowling and batting. Gave his best effort every game. Top scored with 131 runs and took 20 wickets and 7 catches. Also bowled 17 maidens. Well done Jayden.

Bradley Young - also his first year of cricket. Put under a bit of pressure with dad being coach. Showed real improvement with the bat. Bowling was coming along too. Well done Bradley. Scored 4 runs and took 2 wickets.
