Life member George Horwood presenting Neil (left) with his life membership at the 2004/2005 Presentation Dinner Neil first became involved with Baulkham Hills Cricket Club when his son Brad started playing in 1991/92. He took on the manager's role the following season and continued for four seasons. The following season Neil joined the Management Committee of the club. After being elected as Junior Registrar for the 1993/94 season and the following season, Neil took on the Vice President role in 1995/96 when the club was incorporated. Holding that position for three years. He made the next step to President in 1998/99, a position he held for six years. In addition to his continuous service on the Management Committee of the club, Neil has been our Delegate to the Parramatta District Cricket Association for the last five years. His special concern has been the Have-A-Go program. The club has run this pre-competition coaching scheme since being invited to be involved in the pilot year 1994/95. Neil has been there right through, handling the administration until taking on the Coordinator role as well. Finally, after handing over this last season, he was still around "just watching" how things were going. Neil's involvement with the club has been highlighted by his "I will be everywhere man" attitude. Seniors, juniors, pre-season grading, double wicket competitions, Super 8's, registration days, meetings, photo days, Bankstown Challenge days, BBQ's, post match at the Sporto, Have-A-Go Clinic (of course), semi-final and final games - if it involves Baulkham Hills Cricket Club, Neil is probably there. Another pet project for Neil was the expansion of the use of the turf pitches at Charles McLaughlin Reserve. It is now used for top grades of PDCA seniors, as well as older juniors of the club, district representative teams and hosting some of the club's internal competitions.
