Cliff joined Baulko in 1957 as a 13 year old in the Under 16's and played for the club from 1957/58 to 1966/67, progressing through the grades from Under 16 up to A grade. He served as the club's Treasurer during the 1965/66 and 1966/67 seasons. Cliff missed the 1967/68 season due to work commitments as Bank duties took him to Canowindra in country NSW Returning for the 1968/69 season, when he also served as club Secretary, Cliff was a member of the A Grade side until the 1975/76 season. It was during this time, in 1971/72 that Cliff won the Mike Bertoldo Memorial Trophy, for Senior Sportsman Of The Year. In 1974/75 Cliff, along with Ron Rose, won the inaugural Senior Double Wicket comp - the Monty Franklin Perpetual Trophy. In 1976, work commitments with the Bank again took Cliff away from Baulko, this time to Gloucester in country NSW. Cliff returned to the club in 1980. Cliff continued playing from 1980/81 until 1984/85, including playing in premiership teams in B2 and B4. In 1985/86 Cliff began coaching or managing junior teams involving his two sons, Daryl and Andrew. Cliff was elected President in 1989/90, a position he held for 5 seasons, until 1993/94. He also served as Vice President dunring 1994/95. In 1993/94, during the 75th Anniversary celebrations, Cliff, leading his band of helpers, spent many hours researching and writing for the 75th Anniversary publication. This season Cliff was named Clubman Of The Year, winning the Col Sutton Trophy. Cliff served the Club with distinction over many years as a player, executive member and supporter, and was made a Life Member of the club in 1994. Cliff returned to the playing field in 1994/95, captaining the B10 side, and playing alongside his son Andrew. Throughout his playing career, which began in 1957/58 and ended in 1994/95, Cliff scored 2734 runs and took 224 wickets. Together with fellow Life Member George Horwood, Cliff returned to coach our U14/3 junior team in the 2007/08 season. Cliff served for many years as a Park Ranger for Baulkham Hills Shire Council and up until his passing was chairman of the Ted Horwood Reserve 355 committee, a position he held for many years. Cliff passed away, aged 65, in November 2009. Cliff’s happy, friendly demeanour is sadly missed. He was a true gentleman. Cliff's wife, Helen has supported the club in various activities over the years, and their sons Daryl and Andrew both played for the club for many years. In 2010, the Management Committee named the "Senior Team of the Year" trophy the "Cliff Hinton Memorial Cup", to acknowledge Cliff's outstanding contribution to the club.
