Stewart (Mac) McCoullough (OAM)
(Awarded Life Membership 1980)

Mac at the 2005/2006 Presentation Dinner

"Mac" McCoullough is one of those rare folk: a non-cricketer who became a Life Member of the Baulkham Hills Cricket Club in 1980.

When the McCoullough family arrived in Castle Hill in 1969, Mac's younger son, Ross, commenced playing with the Baulko Under 10 side which won the premiership. Mac was concerned about the paucity of news published about the club's juniors and, through his media connections, commenced writing articles about them for the local papers. He is still contributing articles on a regular basis and a number of examples of Mac's writing appear throughout this publication.

In Mac's memory two events stand out in his 24 years connection with the club:

- the success of the Parramatta District Team in winning the Moore Shield competition (the first victory to a Parramatta area team) in 1973/74 - several Baulko juniors were in the side;
- the Baulkham Hills Cricket Club tour of Queensalnd in 1988. Mac went along as the Club's representative and spoke about the Baulkham Hills Club at every function.

Mac became official Publicity Officer quite a few years back and has continually reported the efforts of the Baulko teams in his own inimitable style.

A very strong supporter of the Club, who is a regular contributor at the monthly meetings, Mac has won the Stirrer's Spoon on two occasions.

[The above was taken from the "Baulkham Hills Cricket Club 75th Anniversary - 1919-1994", published in 1994.]

"Mac" McCoullough was awarded an OAM on the 2003 Queens Birthday Honours List. A huge "well done and well earned" from the officers and members at Baulko.

Mac passed away, aged 83, in August 2010.
