About Baulko
Web Site designed by |
Ray and Rita Russell have lived in Junction Road, Baulkham Hills since 1945. Ray's brother-in-law, the late Monty Franklin, encouraged him to come along and watch games. Ray started fielding for oppostion teams who were sometimes short of players. Baulko soon realized that Ray should be playing for "his club" and signed him up. Ray remembers the need to cut down small trees and butts at the old Park Road Resrve before the season commenced - obviously no winter sport in those days. Another feature was the wonderful afternoon teas provided by the ladies during games. Ray played in the A Reserve (1952/1953) premiership team. He enjoyed his cricket played over many years, made many friends, assisted on many committees and was a very active worker for the club. Rita was actively involved with the Ladies Auxiliary and put in many hours to support the deeds of our club. His son, Brian, played for many years, in junior and senior cricket, before moving to the north coast.
