Albert recalls being invited to play with Baulkham Hills by Doug Blundell in 1947/48. At that time there was no water available on Park Road Reserve. Albert, who was a plumber by trade, assisted by other club members connected water and toilet facilities via the generosity of the Napper family who owned the poultry farm opposite the ground. He was a very handy cricketer with both bat and ball and an excellent fieldsman. He played for many years played in our A Grade, A Reserve and B Grade teams and coached junior teams. He recalls the relaxed country atmosphere at Baulkham Hills and the life long friendships that were forged on and off the cricket field. Albert served on many committees and was a long term member of the PDCA executive. He was also part of the first sub-committee. Val, wife of Albert, provided wonderful support and was an active worker with the Ladies Auxiliary. Their sons Alan and Stephen both played cricket and baseball with the Club.
